What motivates you to do what you do at Eventful?

I love the clients that I work with on a day-to-day basis. Because our clients depend on us for multiple events, I get to learn a great deal about their marketing needs and what drives their businesses. We get to know each other so well that I am often able to determine what a client needs before they even ask, and that’s a great feeling.

What led you to work in events?

When I was 17 years old and about to embark on my final high school exams, my dad sent me an article which profiled a day in the life of an event manager. After reading how fast-paced and interesting the day was, I know it was something I would really enjoy. Basically, I haven’t looked back. I feel very lucky to have found the field I enjoy so early in life.

Can you describe your favourite meeting or event and why it has stuck with you?

The last event I managed for an IT software company had over 800 attendees fly into Bangkok from around the Asia Pacific. We ran 12 breakout sessions, 8 expo booths, a welcome reception, a gala awards dinner, simultaneous translation in 3 languages for over 400 people and it all happened in just 2 ½ days. Working with my suppliers from Singapore, Bangkok and Sydney to bring the event to life was a career highlight and a reminder that I am definitely where I’m supposed to be.
